Compiling a Slate of Candidate Schools
Competency Development
During the first session of a six to ten week phase, a student sets
decision criteria and learns to evaluate academic programs. Subsequent
sessions incorporate Becker criteria in the review of every institution
on a long list of twenty to thirty schools. Making detailed comparisons between colleges
develops analytical competencies. Adaptive competencies may come
into play as new criteria take precedence over earlier ones. An information
packet for the client family provides supporting documentation.
Capstone Experience
Enhancing verbal communication skills, the optional capstone experience
is a co-presentation with Keuck Becker. The presentation formally
introduces parents to the final slate of eight to twelve candidate
institutions–although much of the content has often been discussed
in advance. |
